JPSC rubbishes reports of PT paper leak in Jharkhand

- Raj Kumar

The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) rubbished the reports about the preliminary test (PT) paper leak, which caused unrest at some of the centres in Ranchi, Jamtara, Dhanbad, and Chatra on Sunday.

“After we sought a report from deputy commissioners, they ruled out any possibilities of paper leak. Now we have planned to take action against those who circulated false information and demoralised the candidates who appeared for the PT examination and created such a situation that many became disturbed during test,” said JPSC secretary Akshay Kumar Singh.

Asked about suitable action, Singh added: “We will write to the director general of police to take action under suitable law.”

Before the JPSC secretary rubbished the information of the paper leak based on the DCs’ report from different districts, former education minister and Congress executive president Bandhu Tirkey organised a press conference at his official residence and raised the demand for a CBI probe into the matter.

“Tribals and others living in the state are innocent. Generally, people from Bihar, UP, and Rajasthan are involved in the business of paper leaks. If the incident of paper leakage is true, it is the responsibility of the state government to order a thorough probe into the matter. If required, a CBI probe can also be ordered in the interest of students. It is important as earlier also the question paper of JSSC examination had leaked,” Tirkey said. “Recently, the state government has formulated a stringent law for unfair means in the examination. This law should be enforced immediately to ensure justice with those who do hard labour to get a job after facing competitive examination,” Tirkey said on Monday.

On Sunday, when the reports of paper leakage came into the public domain, Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) Party leaders expressed their concern over the matter and attacked the Champai Soren government for its failure in conducting a recruitment examination properly.
