As wishes poured in from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders congratulating CP Joshi for completing one year as the state party chief on Saturday, he said that the party has fulfilled 45% of the promises within 90 days that it made in December last year.

Joshi said, “The double engine government is working in Rajasthan. We have completed 45% of the promises made by our party in the polls within 90 days . Our workers will ensure that we win all 25 seats in the Lok Sabha so Modiji can be PM again.”

The leaders congratulating Joshi included four independent MLAs, Chittorgarh MLA Chandrabhan Singh,Aakya, Bayana MLA Ritu Banawat, Sanchore MLA Jivaram Choudhary, Hamumangarh MLA Ganesh Raj.

They had rebelled from the BJP and contested the assembly polls last year as independents, after their tickets were cut. BJP rebels Mukesh Goyal who contested from Kotputli, Jitendra Meena who contested from Bassialong with Zalim Singh Rawalot, Vikash Kholia, SUkhwant Singh Vijay Meena and Danaram Chaudhary also joined the BJP on Saturday.

Rajasthan’s 25 constituencies will go to the Lok Sabha polls in two phases on April 19 and April 26 and the results will be announced on June 4. The BJP won all seats in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha polls. In 2019, it won 24 of the 25 seats.

Besides, the assembly bypoll to Bagidora will also be held on April 26. The seat was left vacant after Congress lawmaker Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya resigned and joined the ruling BJP on February 21.

Former Congress MP from Rajamand, Gopal Singh Idwa who hails from Chittorgarh, had recently left the Congress and joined the BJP on Saturday. The BJP won all seats in the 2014 and 2019 LS polls.

He said, “I have always believed in the ideology of the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh. I do not have any personal grudge with the Congress. I took the decision of joining BJP from a ideological perspective. I am a nationalist. And I want to see the position of our Viswa Guru (world leader) reinstated.”

After welcoming Idwa into the party, Joshi said, “Idwa has contested election against me. Today he is joining the party. He is joining the party without any conditions. He too wants that Modi should be PM again.”
