Only Congress can maintain tribal identity, says Tirkey
The working president of the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee, Bandhu Tirkey, said on Saturday that only the Congress can maintain tribal identity, respect, and development in the true sense.
Addressing an election rally in Mandar in support of INDIA Block’s candidate Sukhdeo Bhagat, Tirkey said, “Today, Congress has the most important role in maintaining the status of tribal identity along with tribal identity in the country, which has not only enacted many constitutional provisions like the Forest Conservation Act, Forest Rights Act, PESA Act, Fifth and Sixth Schedule. Most of the development schemes being implemented even at the grassroots level are the contribution of Congress.”
Tirkey alleged that the government working under the leadership of Narendra Modi is “ruining the country only by promoting mutual discrimination, inflation, and unemployment”.
“BJP wants to create such an
environment which will benefit only a few industrialist friends of the Prime Minister. Due to the environment created across the country by Prime Minister Modi and leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party, the tribals, Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Class (OBC) minorities, etc., along with all the people of the country are suffering the consequences,” Tirkey said.
He also stressed the need for expressing confidence in the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.
“Today, it is the need of the country to express confidence in the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and give victory to the Congress because today’s fight is not only political but also social, and it is going to have a far-reaching impact on the future of all of us. Therefore, along with mutual harmony, sovereignty, unity, integrity etc., in India, it should also be kept in mind which government can provide equal and coordinated development to all the people of the country,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bhagat said that there is a need to recognise those forces which create walls between tribal as well as scheduled castes.
“It is like tribals to fight for the truth, and it is a challenge as well as a question of life and death for them. Today, everyone in Mandar, as well as the Lohardaga Lok Sabha constituency, is ready to fight with a true heart, whether it is the BJP candidate or any fake candidate fielded by it. There is a need to recognise those forces which create walls between the tribals as well as the Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, minorities as well as all the people,” he said.
