Extend support to BJP in LS elections, Marandi to people
RANCHI: Jharkhand Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president and former chief minister Babulal Marandi on Saturday drew attention to the ‘hard work’ done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the last ten years and asked people to extend their support to him once again in the Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing a public meeting in support of BJP’s candidate Sameer Oroan at Sosai Ashram in Mandar, Marandi said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been working for the development of the country for the last ten years. The work he has done in these ten years is in front of everyone. Be it village people, women, poor, labourers, or youth. He worked for all classes. No class was left out. Worked for everyone’s development. The country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi says, ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas.’ This is not just a slogan. He has shown this by doing so.”
“The Prime Minister aims to make India a developed and prosperous country in the coming days. When he talks about a developed and prosperous India, he talks about providing maximum facilities to the people. As soon as he became Prime Minister, he started working in this direction. First, toilets were made available to people in their homes. After that, gas connection and electricity were provided to every home. Now, 5 kg of free grains are being given to people so that the poor do not remain hungry,” Marandi added.
Meanwhile, Marandi termed the INDIA bloc government in the state as “anti-Jharkhand”.
“Jharkhand is governed by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress, and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). All these parties are anti-Jharkhand and antidevelopment. The fight for a separate state of Jharkhand has been ongoing since the country became independent. The Congress party never respected the people of Jharkhand. If Congress had wanted, Jharkhand would have become a separate state long ago. If Jharkhand has become a separate state, it is the contribution of NDA,” he said.
Marandi further accused Congress of promoting the displacement of tribal people in Jharkhand. “Most people from Jharkhand were displaced during the Congress rule. During the tenure of Congress, big factories were established in Jharkhand. Big mines opened. Due to this, people were also displaced. Congress should answer this.Today, those people whose political shops are being closed in the country are spreading false propaganda,” he said.
Responding to the allegations, Congress president Rajesh Thakur said, “As Babulal Ji began touring the state, he became aware of public’s anger regarding Soren’s imprisonment related to land issues. Consequently, he started making statements to justify actions against Soren. Regarding Soren’s incarceration in land matters, Babulal should be well aware that it could backfire on him, considering he also owns land, as evidenced by the BJP office.”
