RANCHI: Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday accused the JMM and Congress-led coalition government in Jharkhand of looting the people of the state ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in the state.

Addressing a rally organised in support of BJP’s Singhbhum candidate Geeta Kora at Manoharpur on Friday, he said that it is not the BJP but the JMM and Congress are indulging in such activities.

“Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren is in jail for looting tribal land and mines,” Sai

said.

“The JMM-Congress coalition government is engaged in corruption and looting the people of the state. Though Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh are mineral-rich states, Chhattisgarh progressed a lot while Jharkhand remained backward due to corruption and loot.”

Sai said, “People in Chhattisgarh voted Congress to power after observing BJP rule for three terms, but they realised that the party does not honour its words and promises, and voted our party to power in 2023.”

Speaking in the local dialect, the Chhattisgarh chief minister talked about creating job opportunities by developing mineral-based industries in West Singhbhum.

“The Chiria iron ore mines are a big asset. If the industry is planned properly, youths will get job opportunities. This time effort will be made for the same once Narendra Modi comes to power for the third consecutive term,” Sai said.

Sai, on the occasion, enumerated the achievements of the BJP-led government at the Centre, explaining how India is gaining respect across the world.

“Earlier, the government used to behave like a mute spectator when our soldiers were brutally attacked by Pakistan, but after Modi came to power, the situation has changed,” he said.

Sai added, “Once former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi publicly accepted that only 15 paise of ₹1 sent from Delhi reached the village. Modi Ji took the message seriously, and the money of government schemes directly reached the account of the beneficiary, and for that, Modi has ensured Jan Dhan account for everyone.”

“Only a poor person can understand the problem of the poor. Modi Ji has done a lot for the poor. He has not only provided a washroom but also a house, LPG connection, water connection, and power connection to the poor, realizing their problems,” the chief minister added.

Singhbhum will go to polls on May 13 along with Khunti, Lohardaga and Palamu.
