‘Acting in films is not a cakewalk for anyone’

The 15-year-old who will debut in a Bollywood thriller, says that the nuances of acting are a lot tougher than it seems

Delhi-boy Sainsh Bhalla (below), 15, who is gearing up for his debut film, Bewajah, says he always wanted to get into either acting or music. “I was always into performing arts, and not completely into studies. I’ve been learning the guitar for about eight years now. Be it acting, music, drama, or theatre. I have been doing these things for a long time,” he says. Recalling his first audition for the film, even though he had just one dialogue, Sainsh says he realised things aren’t as easy as they look like. “Lots of people feel acting is a piece of cake. I also used to feel the same. But after working in a film, I got to know how difficult it is to be giving the same expression, and not moving from the same place till the shot is over, eight times and through different angles,” he says. Surprisingly, even while shooting, he never got to read the script or understand his role. “Probably the director wanted to keep everyone curious and reveal the story later or maybe they thought I am too young to understand the nuances of the script,” he smiles. The upcoming actor feels blessed to have a family who supports him and encourages him to do better. “My parents have always told me to do whatever my heart tells me, but also say, whatever I wish to get into, I need to be the best in it.” Directed by Haryana-based filmmaker Jagat Joon, the film revolves around the lives of three people - a school kid, an Intelligence agent, and a terrorist. A series of twists follow after the kid meets with an unfortunate, or rather a fortunate, accident. Joon is all praises for Sainsh. “I was looking for a young actor who could look innocent and act as well; someone who could speak through his facial expression and looked good on camera. Sainsh’s presence on screen is amazing and he is really confident while playing his part.”
