I don’t like watching horror films: Sonakshi Sinha
Sonakshi Sinha has been a part of action dramas such as Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty (2014), and Force 2 (2016). The actor is now keen on exploring different genres. Prod her about the one she most looks forward to, and the 29-year-old actor says, “I’d like to take up an out-and-out romcom, which I haven’t attempted before. I’d love to do a chick flick too.” Horror, she says, is one genre that isn’t as popular in India as it is in the West. Most mainstream actors haven’t experimented in that space, she says. She says she’s herself not to fond of it, either. “I don’t like watching horror films because I find them unpleasant. I like to leave the theatre with a happy feeling. Though, I am not someone who gets scared,” she says. Asked if she’ll ever take up acting in a horror film, she says it depends on the script. “A lot of horror films have done well. With the advancements in technology, I am sure we can do a lot more. It would be interesting to be a part of them,” she chuckles. Meanwhile, asked if she’s a director’s actor or the one who voices a concern is there’s a creative difference of opinion, she says, “I wouldn’t like to interfere with a director’s vision. Once I sign a film, it is my job to execute to the best of my ability what I am asked for, by the director, who is the captain of the ship. Unless I feel really strongly about something, I will not say it. I will do so only if I feel it will make a difference.”
