Actor Deepika Singh and her husband, director Rohit Raj Goyal, welcomed their son Sohum in May this year. The actor, who is on maternity leave, says she doesn’t regret staying at home to take care of her child. “When he [Sohum] smiles, [the] world becomes beautiful and every stress goes away. And when he cries, I just get desperate to calm him down and make him happy. I’m in love with him and I’ve never had this feeling even for Rohit... that someone is in my mind 24 hours,” says Deepika, who rose to fame after playing the role of Sandhya in the show Diya Aur Baati Hum. The six-month-old baby accompanies his mother everywhere, ever during her exercise session. “I’ve started working out at home because have to get back in shape. He stays with me and enjoys my work out when I hold him and do little exercises. That is the biggest joy for me, being able to spend time with him and giving him the kind of attention he needs right now,” says the actor. Deepika is thankful to the entertainment industry for letting her take time off. “I have friends who work in a corporate set-up and have to join back their jobs after three months of maternity leave. I’m thankful to the industry which I’m a part of, which allows me to join back whenever I feel like,” she says. The actor is not looking at scripts or planning her return to showbiz anytime soon. “I’m only focusing on this time that I’m spending with my son. I do go out and have done shoots as well .In such a case, my mother in law is really supportive and helpful,” says the actor.
