Bromance meets romance

The trailer of Luv Ranjan’s upcoming film, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (SKTKS), which released on Wednesday (December 20) has finally solved the mystery around the film’s unusual title. According to the makers, the subject of bromance versus romance will be explored for the first time with this film. Luv says, “All sorts of relationship goals and statuses are the sort of things that I keep reading these days. Some people are setting goals and the others are aspiring to achieve those goals. The film is about how two such cherished relations in Titu’s life conflict each other and the drama that follows after that. And going by the response that I have seen online, I can see that there are many Sonus, Titus and Sweetys out there.” After the success of Pyaar Ka Punchnama franchise, Luv has reunited with actors Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh for SKTKS. While many films have dealt with bromance, romance or even anti-romance like Luv’s own Pyaar Ka Punchnama series, the subject of bromance versus romance in SKTKS is apparently appealing to the millennials. Producer Bhushan Kumar says, “The response to the trailer has been terrific. Youngsters are identifying with the premise of the film. Today’s youth is often faced with a dilemma where their closest friends sometimes cannot get along with their to-be better halves. We have exploited this dynamics involving the three protagonists in SKTKS.” Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is written and directed by Luv Ranjan. Produced by T-series’ Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Luv Films’ Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, the film will release on February 9, 2018.
