Remember the favourite duo Karan Arjun that made celluloid history with Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan? Karan Johar, who is now playing a double role in his latest movie Welcome To New York, is bringing this avatar back. The two roles essayed by Johar are named as Karan and Arjun. In the film’s trailer, audience see actors Riteish Deshmukh and Karan Johar in a banter where Riteish calls him Karan, but Johar responds by saying that he is Arjun. To this, Riteish breaks out in laughter and calling himself Rakhee (the actor played the role of Karan-arjun’s mother) begins to sing one of the iconic songs from the film, Yeh Bandhan To Pyar Ka Bandhan Hai. “Karan is such a talented and phenomenal actor. And imagine seeing him in a double role; the audience will love it. There are two distinct personalities in Karan Johar that are revealed in the film,” says the director, Chakri Toleti. Welcome To New York is a heartfelt, rib-tickling comedy that narrates the story of two unlikely youngsters living in India in search of a better life. An unexpected trip to New York City sets them off on a comic adventure that changes their lives forever. The film comprises of an exciting ensemble multi-star cast with Karan Johar in a never-seenbefore double role, Diljit Dosanjh, Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, Boman Irani, Lara Dutta, Sushant Singh Rajput and Rana Daggubati. Directed by Chakri Toleti and produced by Pooja Films and Wiz Films with Music by Pooja Music, Welcome To New York releases worldwide on February 23, 2018.
