Presenting an innocent tale of love

The trailer of the muchawaited film, Dhadak, will be unveiled at 12pm today. Starring Janhvi and Ishaan, the film is an official adaptation of the Marathi hit, Sairat (2016). This is also the debut acting venture of Janhvi, who is the daughter of film producer Boney Kapoor and late actor, Sridevi. Ishaan made his film debut earlier this year with the Majid Majidi directorial, Beyond The Clouds and received rave reviews from critics for his performance in the film. Dhadak has been produced by Karan Johar, who has successfully launched actors Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra in the past. This is director Shashank Khaitan’s third film after Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017). “We are honoured and excited to collaborate with Zee Studios on the official adaptation of the immensely celebrated and loved Sairat. Dhadak is Shashank’s third film post his Dulhania series and is a true labour of love. We present Janhvi and Ishaan and can’t wait for the viewers to experience their innocence and magic on celluloid,” says Karan. The makers hope that the audiences will be impressed with the freshness and talent of youngsters Janhvi and Ishaan in the film. “Zee Studios believes in creating and backing rich content that resonates with the audiences. Dhadak is very special for us as this is our first collaboration with Dharma Productions. Shashank has done a great job in adapting our Marathi blockbuster, Sairat. We are excited and hopeful that Dhadak will be as successful in winning hearts worldwide,” added Sujay Kutty, business head, Zee Studios.
