Special access for Hrithik!
By now, he has shot at multiple locations — Indian as well as international — for his films. But last month, actor Hrithik Roshan had an extremely special tryst with an iconic place: Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Uttar Pradesh, when he shot for his next film, Super 30, at the campus. This is possibly the first time that the famous university opened its doors for the shooting of a Hindi film. “Yes, it’s true. Not many are aware but Hrithik shot quite extensively inside the BHU campus,” says an insider close to the film’s unit. Incidentally, the star wrapped up shooting for Vikas Bahl’s directorial venture in Varanasi itself. “But what remains extremely special is the fact that Hrithik and the team shot at BHU. The team shot in the expansive library of the university for three-four days,” adds the insider. As for the choice of location, the insider says, “Makers were always clear that they wanted to shoot inside the university campus, since it’s one of the most iconic and old educational institutes in India.” This was the second time that Hrithik has shot for Super 30 in Varanasi. “The film’s shooting had also kicked off in Varanasi. Unlike last time, this time around, Hrithik sported a different and clean-shaven look,” says the insider. The film has Hrithik playing mathematics genius Anand Kumar.
