‘Too comfortabl­e’ working on TV, Shashank Vyas now wants to focus on films, web shows

Not every time you can do everything in one medium,” says Vyas, who plays the lead in the film Laila Manju, directed by Prem Soni of Me and Mrs Khanna (2009) fame. Though the film is likely to release on OTT, the actor is unperturbe­d. “At the end, your work should speak. See what Laxmii (2020) did for Sharad Kelkar,” he reasons. Having said that, Vyas admits having reservatio­ns against certain narratives. “On TV, people know me in a certain way. I’d be new to web and film audience. But I can’t do these dark web shows high on cusswords, sexuality and murder,” he says. Does this shift mean he’s bidding adieu to TV? “I can never say no to TV... I’m not running after money, my creative urge needs to be satisfied,” he signs off. fter a successful TV stint, Shashank Vyas wants to shift focus to films and web shows.
