Mrunal Thakur returns to the basketball court after a decade

-

Juggling a career in showbiz with one’s personal life is hectic as it is. And for people in this industry, taking out time for one’s hobbies can become quite difficult. But actor Mrunal Thakur, who took to yoga during the Covid-19 induced lockdown in 2020, is back to one of her passions — basketball. As she decided to return to the basketball court, she was reminded of her school days. “I have a strong connection with the sport since my younger days. Returning to it after so long felt like homecoming. I have always believed in the more natural forms of exercise and playing basketball with my brother is just that. It’s an hour free from my crazy schedule, shoots, the frenzy of paps, etc.,” says the 28-year-old actor. Not many know that Thakur was a pro in basketball during her teens and even played Under-16 at district level before the acting bug bit her. “It’s an hour of pure sibling time. Currently, I am the boss on the court but my brother is getting better. Last few days of playing basketball have made me so nostalgic about my school days. It brought back into my life the idea of sports and the competition on the field. I find myself centered and focussed at work, that’s the effect sports has on you,” she shares. RISHABH SURI

On a late night TV show, American senator Bernie Sanders said he is aware of the memes made out of the picture of him sitting crosslegged on a chair. “I was just sitting there trying to keep warm, trying to pay attention to what was going on.”
