The Met Gala was finally in full swing, with stunning celebrity sightings bringing the glitz and glam to the red carpet. Themed Gilded Glamor, it saw reality TV star Kim Kardashian posing with her boyfriend, comedian Pete Davidson, in a dress that she had to lose seven kilos to fit into. It was originally worn by Marilyn Monroe, six decades ago, when she sang Happy Birthday to (former) US President John F Kennedy. “I would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the treadmill, completely cut out all sugar and all carbs, and just eat the cleanest veggies and protein. I didn’t starve myself, but I was so strict,” she told Vogue.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk also attended the glitzy night, marking his first public outing since he bought Twitter. He was accompanied by mum Maye.
