Actor Robert Downey Jr and writer-director Shane Black are all set to develop a series of movie and TV projects, adapted from Donald E Westlake’s Parker crime fiction series, Variety has confirmed. The first project emerging from the deal will be a feature film, titled Play Dirty. The duo first worked together on the 2005 neo-noir Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, which was as Black’s directorial debut and saw Downey star alongside Val Kilmer and Michelle Monaghan.
Hollywood star Tom Hanks is reuniting with Forrest Gump director Robert Zemeckis on a new film titled Here, according to Deadline. The 1994 iconic film’s writer Eric Roth will helm the script, adapting it from the 2014 graphic novel of the same name by Richard Mcguire. It will be the first time the Forrest Gump dream team has worked together in 30 years. The project is still in development, and will be in auction for streaming soon.
Actor Gary Oldman is set to work with filmmaker Christopher Nolan for Oppenheimer. The duo had earlier collaborated on the trilogy of Batman movies. Cillian Murphy will star as Oppenheimer in the project that also features actors Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, and Florence Pugh, among others.
