Nokia India ex-chief Shivakumar goes to Pepsi in high-profile move
NEW DELHI: Global beverages and cola major PepsiCo announced on Monday the appointment of Nokia’s former head for emerging markets, D Shivakumar, as its chairman and chief executive officer for India region. Shivakumar had quit Nokia in March this year citing health reasons.
“Shivakumar will oversee all aspects of PepsiCo’s India Region….(and) will be responsible for strategically deploying the `33,000-crore investments in India that PepsiCo announced last month,” PepsiCo said in a statement. Shivakumar takes charge immediately.
At Nokia, he was the head of Nokia’s operations across India, Middle East and Africa.
Shiv would also be responsible for NourishCo — PepsiCo’s joint venture with Tata Global Beverages — and the company’s franchise businesses in Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. He would report to Sanjeev Chaddha, PepsiCo’s CEO for Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA).

PepsiCo also elevated Gautham Mukkavilli, current general manager as senior-vice president, business transformation AMEA effective from March 1, 2014.
