Tejpal seeks permission to visit ailing mother

MUMBAI: Tehelka co-founder Tarun Tejpal applied on Wednesday to the fast-track court to visit his ailing mother at his home in Goa on Thursday, the third such application he has made.

Tejpal’s mother is suffering from cancer and he had previously been allowed to visit her once in the hospital and once in their home.

The state said in its reply to the application that it had no objections to his visit, based on certain conditions.

These include there should be nothing to inconvenience the escort party, the investigating officer or her representative will go with him and that the occasion should not be reduced to a social event.

The court will decide on Thursday on the latest visit application. HTC
