Govt offers custom packages for major enterprise­s in Ghiloth

JAIPUR: There will be a customised package for projects in the Ghiloth Industrial Area subject to clearance by the State Empowered Committee. Under such projects, the enterprise­s will have to invest more than `500 crore or should provide employment to more than 500 persons.

Similarly, enterprise­s investing more than `100 crore and using the prescribed raw materials like feldspar (or that prescribed in annexure II of the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme 2014) could also avail of a customised package.

This was announced on Tuesday by the principal secretary, industries and managing director of Rajasthan State Industrial Developmen­t & Investment Corporatio­n Ltd (RIICO), Veenu Gupta at the Investors’ Meet and Business to Government Interactio­n (B2G) on Ceramics, Glass & Allied Areas held at the SMS Convention Centre in Jaipur.

Gupta clarified that an entreprene­ur could give a ‘wish list’ which would be considered by the state government for approval.

India’s first organised ceramic and glass zone, Ghiloth, located near Neemrana, was officially launched on Tuesday. Gupta added that “RIICO has planned this zone in the National Capital Region of Delhi so that the entreprene­urs of this zone can have easy access not only to the raw material sources nearby but also to the large consumer base of North India close to their plants.”

The meet was organised by RIICO and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).

The meeting was also addressed by the commission­er of industries, Government of Rajasthan, Abhay Kumar; chairman and managing director, Kajaria Ceramics Ltd, Ashok Kajaria; scientist-in-charge, central glass & ceramics research institute, Dr LK Sharma; additional director, Department of Mines & Geology, Government of India, Ashok Sharma and general manager, Gail (India) Ltd SN Kumar.

A brochure on the Ghiloth Ceramic & Glass Zone was also unveiled.
