MSC AT LOUGHBOROUGH UNIVERSITY
The Wolfson School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the UK’s Loughborough University is inviting applications for its MSc programme in sustainable engineering. The Wolfson School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering was recently ranked 5th in the Times Good University Guide 2013 and 6th in Guardian University Guide 2013. Being both technology and management based, the MSc in sustainable engineering programme acknowledges the modern challenges of a rapidly changing global manufacturing industry. It has therefore been designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to enable them to help industry and commerce reduce their environmental impacts and support the objectives of sustainable development.
This one-year full time course is divided into eight taught modules and one major individual project. The taught component comprises of two introduction modules, three applied modules which cover industry relevant tools, two research based modules which details current advances in waste management and sustainable energy, and one module on sustainable business management. The project component will be on a subject of the students’ choosing, but should be aligned with sustainable development.
Students who wish to apply for the programme should have a minimum of an upper second class honours degree (60%) in any engineering discipline with appropriate industrial experience. Applicants with a score lower than 60% will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The fee for the course is £17,950.
