Ensure quality when making roads and buildings, says CM

JAIPUR: Chief minister Vasundhara Raje on Monday directed the officials to ensure quality while constructi­ng roads and buildings across the state. She said no road in the state should be substandar­d and if found, then strict action would be taken against the guilty.

Reviewing the progress of works announced during the budget related to Public Works Department (PWD) at her residence she said all works would be completed on time so that people can reap the benefits of the projects.

Raje also directed officials to ensure that effective monitoring was done during the constructi­on of model schools. She said ministers, before inaugurati­ng the schools, will ensure quality of constructi­on.

While reviewing progress of education department she asked the officials to form school advisory boards in every district for the developmen­t and creation of facilities in schools. She suggested that a dedicated fund could be created to finance the developmen­tal works with the sanction of boards.

Raje directed officials to fill posts of principals and teachers in 10,000 schools across the state which will be constructe­d as model schools.

During the review meet education secretary Nareshpal Gangwar briefed the chief minister about the promotions and status of recruitmen­t of teachers in the department. The officers also gave a presentati­on on the progress in works which were announced in the state budget this year.
