GREEN SIGNAL FOR 3 PROJECT REPORTS UNDER AMRUT PLAN
JAIPUR: The detailed project reports (DPR) of three development projects have been approved under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) plan with a budget of ₹61 crore.
The DPRs were approved for water supply projects with budgets of ₹50 crore and ₹10 crore in Bharatpur and Jodhpur respectively, and a drainage project in Baran worth ₹1 crore.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the state-level technical committee for AMRUT at the directorate of local bodies.
In the meeting presided over by principal secretary, local selfgovernance department, Manjeet Singh, it was decided that all projects done under AMRUT will be geo-tagged for better transparency.
Singh also instructed officials to ensure that information about works done under the AMRUT plan, including images of the project status, should be available in the server for effective monitoring. “Civic works at amusement parks and green spaces, like construction of concrete floors, must be restricted to 15% of the area so as to preserve greenery,” said Singh.
The committee also gave approval to drainage and sewerage tenders in Udaipur worth ₹1.73 crore and ₹70 crore respectively. Similarly, ₹3.25 crore was sanctioned for green space projects in Sawai Madhopur.
The meeting was attended by several officials, including DLB director and joint secretary Pawan Arora, executive director of RUDSICO Manish Garg, joint secretary (finance department) Zakir Hussain and chief engineer (local self governance department) KK Sharma.
Rajasthan government was awarded ₹20.8 crore by the Centre at the Indian Sanitation Conference in October for its works under AMRUT plan.
