AJMER GOVT SCHOOLS GET 30 ‘SMART CLASSROOMS’

minister of state for finance Arjun Ram Meghwal inaugurate­d 30 “smart classrooms” in as many government schools of the district at a function on Wednesday.

A classroom has internet connectivi­ty with air conditione­rs and modern furniture. It will give class 10 and 12 students access to the simplified activityba­sed learning (ABL) and simplified activity learning methodolog­y (SALM).

Inaugurati­ng the smart classrooms from a single point at Moiniya Islamia government school Meghwal said, “This is a step in direction of digitisati­on of education in government schools in the state and to bring learning process at par with any standard public school of repute.”

State education minister Vasudev Devnani said, “Smart classroom will enhance the learning skills of students. It will bring about a transforma­tion for students. Soon such classrooms will be opened in schools of other districts of the state.”

For the students, it was an “out of the world” experience on the first day. Gaytri Mathur, a Class 10 student at the Sawitri girls school said, “Learning through visuals and animation makes it more interestin­g for us. Attention span of students is bound to improve after attending such classes.”

The smart classrooms have been establishe­d by the State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur with an expenditur­e of ₹1.3 crore under the corporate social responsibi­lity (CSR). HTC
