I would like to tell him (Navnit Mahrishi) that if he would have have raised hand on a BJP worker, I would have twisted his neck

BJP MLA said on Friday that he would not hesitate to assault a person if he dared to manhandle a BJP worker.

Bhawani Singh Rajawat, the MLA from Ladpura (Kota), was reacting to retired police official Navnit Mahrishi’s statement that he would have broken the hand of a man had he attacked a police official.

“I would like to tell him (Navnit Mahrishi) that if he (Navnit) would have been an SHO and would have raised hand on a BJP worker, then I would have twisted his neck,” Rajawat said while speaking at a BJP workers’ meeting held by state party president Ashok Parnami.

“There was bloodshed in an altercation between BJP MLA Chandrakanta Meghwal and policemen at the Mahaveer Nagar police station on February 19; justice for such bloodshed will be done,” he said. Chandrakanta Meghwal’s husband Narendra Meghwal allegedly thrashed a police official over issuing a challan for the vehicle of a party worker. Mahaveer Nagar station house officer Ram Basaida had said a policeman was allegedly manhandled and thrashed, but denied reports of detention of the MLA and other BJP leaders. The police booked Chandrakanta, her husband, and some party workers on charges of assaulting policemen.

“CM Vasundhara Raje has taken immediate action in the case and removed 5 policemen of Mahaveer Nagar police station and had sent them to the police lines. We have complete faith in her; she would do justice in the case,” Rajawat said.

This is not the first time Rajawat has given a controversial statement. He had earlier spoken against Bihar’s coaching students in Kota, and called for firing the crocodiles that are troubling people of his constituency. Rajawat had also shown a video clip after demonetisation, alleging that the Centre had leaked information to Ambani and Adani before the recall of high-value notes.
