UTTAM PRADESH Chief minister retains 3 dozen departments; lone Muslim face Raza gets IT, science, tech
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday allocated portfolios to his cabinet colleagues while retaining over three dozen departments, including the home ministry, with himself.
The chief minister also kept information, housing and urban planning, food and civil supplies, mining, personnel, institutional finance, estate and several other departments according to the the list released by Governor Ram Naik.
Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya has been given the public works department (PWD), food processing, entertainment tax and public enterprises department.
The other Deputy CM, Dinesh Sharma was given higher and secondary education, science and technology, electronics and IT departments.
The key finance portfolio went to Rajesh Agarwal, while Sidhharth Nath Singh has been given mdical and health departments.
Among the 22 cabinet ministers, Surya Pratap Shahi got Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday ordered officials to enforce a blanket ban on the smuggling of cows even as the state saw raids, arson at meat shops and one lynching.
Adityanath, whose website is running an opinion poll on cow slaughter, has also directed police officials to prepare a detailed action plan for shutting down illegal abattoirs.
