Mitchell Starc’s ‘brain fade’ on Twitter: Tags wrong Virat Kohli
During the India vs Australia Test series, the word ‘Brain Fade’ was a constant trend. India skipper Virat Kohli’s dismissal in Pune and Bangalore started the whole trend while Steve Smith’s DRS fiasco at the Chinnaswamy stadium gave the term a whole new dimension.
Now, Mitchell Starc has fallen prey to this phenomenon.
The left-arm pacer, who returned home from the series after fracturing his foot, tried to send a direct message to the India skipper’s handle on Twitter. The only problem, he tagged the wrong Virat Kohli.
Starc, who tweeted from his official handle @mstarc56, wrote “Hey friend :) Hopefully I don’t have to look for a new IPL team?? Haha media hey! Didn’t get a chance to have a proper catch up mate but Congrats on the series win and on your summer personally... I hope that shoulder is on the mend and not too bad. Good luck for the ipl, here’s hoping to an RCB win. Cheers mate.” Starc tagged @imVkohIIi instead of Kohli’s verified account @ImVkohli.
The tweet received over 900 re-tweets and 870 likes. The tweet has also been shared extensively.
The message comes in the backdrop of Kohli’s comment in the aftermath of the Dharamsala Test which saw India clinch the four-Test series 2-1. In the post-match press conference, Kohli had said some Australian players were no longer his friends.
