Senior NC leader defends Pakistan’s judicial system

-

Senior National Conference leader Sheikh Mustafa Kamal on Tuesday defended Pakistan’s legal system after neighbouring country’s military court sentenced Kulbhushan Jadhav to death over spying charges.

Kamal, who is uncle of Jammu and Kashmir’s former chief minister Omar Abdullah, said that there is a democratic system in Pakistan.

“There are courts in the country and as far as I know spies are always tried in army courts in Pakistan and then they also have a relief of appeal in Pakistan’s Supreme Court and even the President of Pakistan. Why should anybody doubt the legal system of Pakistan without any proof just because New Delhi doesn’t like the country?,” Kamal said.

Meanwhile, Panthers Party leader and Supreme Court lawyer Bhim Singh on Tuesday said he would move a petition before the Pakistan SC against Jadhav’s death sentence.
