After making the controversial statement, the MLA added that Ambedkar was an intelligent person and there was no doubt about it.
Bansal, who is a three-time MLA from Bharatpur, was the chief guest at the inauguration of the school in Bharatpur’s Krishna Nagar Colony.
Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot reacted to this statement through a tweet. “BJP MLA’s statement is not just his opinion but he has revealed his party’s thinking,” he tweeted.
Bharatpur Mayor Shiv Singh Bhont, who was also present when Bansal made the controversial statement, said he was not intelligent and didn’t know general knowledge when asked to comment on the MLA’s comment.
When HT reached out to Bansal later in the day, he said he didn’t make a comment on politics of votes.
