JKK to organise summer classes from next month
Jawahar Kala Kendra in Jaipur will organise a monthlong junior summer programme from May 15 this year.
Under the programme, various short workshops will be conducted on various aspects of music, dance, literature, visual art and theatre with a special focus on the contemporary nuances, the organisers said.
These workshops are aimed to acquaint the participants with the different art forms and also to give them a practical experience. The summer camp is envisaged to instill among the young participants leadership skills as well as a curiosity for art, they said.
The workshops to be held this year include caricature making by Sudhir Goswami, miniature painting with contemporary nuances by Sanjeev Sharma, story and poem reading by Pallavi Singh and Gayatri Rajwade.
The music and dance arena will witness workshops on contemporary dance and western music.
This year there will also be workshops on folk vocal and instrumental music as well as folk dances of Rajasthan, wherein rustic artistes will also be interacting with the young participants.
There will also be a theatre workshop under the programme in order to imbibe the different aspects of theatre as well as overall personality development among the students. A three-day workshop will also be organised for the facilitators by renowned theatre experts.
Children between 5 years and 18 years are eligible to participate in the workshop. The forms for registration in the workshops will be available at the JKK reception from May 3, the organisers said.
