40 students in top 100 coached in Kota

SUCCESS Institutes claim students got half of the spots in top 10 all India rank (AIR) list

Coaching institutes in Kota, India’s coaching hub, claimed on Sunday that at least 40 of their students have found a place in the list of top 100 in the Joint Entrance Examinatio­n (JEE) Advanced 2017, which is conducted for admission to various engineerin­g colleges, including the premier Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Institutes in the Rajasthan city also said their students have grabbed half of the places in the top 10 All India Rank or AIR in the JEE Advanced. The results were declared on Sunday.

Suraj Yadav of Vibrant Academy clinched AIR 5 by scoring 330 out of 366 marks. Saurav Yadav of Resonance Eduventure­s Private Limited also scored 330 out of 366 marks to bagged AIR 6.

Candidates, who cleared the JEE (Main) or the first phase of the two-phase exams, were eligible to sit for the JEE (Advanced).

Around 1.50 lakh aspirants come to Kota every year for coaching of medical and engineerin­g entrance exams. A total of around 40,000 aspirants from different coaching institutes had appeared for JEE Advanced 2017 in Kota this year.

Allen Career Institute, Kota, claimed that three of its students —Omkar Manik Deshpande, Rachit Bansal and Lakshya Sharma — have grabbed AIR 8, 9 and 10 ranks respective­ly.

Nucleus coaching institute of Kota also claimed Lakshya Sharma, who has ranked AIR 10, took coaching for JEE Advanced from their institute.

Apart from the top 10 AIR, coaching institutes in the city said many of their students appeared in the top 100 rank.

Managing director of Resonance Eduventure­s Private Limited, RK Verma said that nine of its students are in the top 100 rankings — Saurav Yadav, Arpit Menaria, Yash Jain, Ritik Roongta, Shashank Kumar, Shivam Goyal, Nisarg Bhatt, Divyanshu and Prakhar Mangal secured AIR Rank 6, 22, 29, 48, 54, 63, 90, 92 and 95 respective­ly.

Allen Career Institute of Kota said that of 25 of its students are in top 100, including 21 students from classroom coaching and four from distance learning.

Vibrant Academy claimed four students are in top 100. Narendra Awasthi, director of Vibrant Academy, Kota, said that apart from Suraj Yadav (who scored AIR 5) Sumit, Manas Shukla and Medhakant scored AIR 47, 55 and 75 respective­ly.

Career Point Institute of Kota said that their students have bagged ranks in ST and OBC category. Shailendra Maheshwari, director of Career Point, Kota, said that their students secured AIR 3, 16, 17 and 33 in SC category while Sanjeev Jadhav scored AIR 5inOBC.

Director of Nucleus Coaching Institute, Kota, Vishal Joshi said eight of their students are in the top 100 ranks.
