Police officials finally managed to solve the mysterious disappearance of Sukhpal Singh, who has been missing since June 2014.

Police recovered his skeleton buried in a 20-feet deep soak pit in his own house on Saturday evening.

His wife Jaspal Kaur, sons Ajay Deep Singh alias Monty and Raman Deep Singh kept giving contradictory statements about his presence in different places. However, at last Monty broke down and gave up the secret.

Sukhpal Singh of Chak 23 KND of Khajuwala police circle in Bikaner has been missing since June 21, 2014 and his brother Nakshtra Singh had filed a missing persons report in Khajuwala police station.

Circle officer (CO) Ismail Khan said that police teams had been looking for him in different places and making secret enquiries.

Recently, the police received a tip- off about the digging a new soak pit in Sukhpal’s house. This time when the police questioned Monty, he revealed the whole conspiracy. Khan said that during interrogation Monty told the police that he had killed his father with the help of his mother and brother, the same day in 2014 and buried him in the pit in the compound of their house.

Earlier, in his statement to the police, the accused had said that his father had gone to Amritsar and was seen staying there. “The accused have a sharp mind and are good liars,” Khan added.

The skeleton was discovered in the pit, as Monty had told police. The police have scheduled an autopsy by a medical board to confirm the cause of death. Sources said that the family was having regular fights leading to the murder.
