Kalam’s wax statue sent to Rameswaram from Jaipur
wax statue of former President APJ Abdul Kalam, to be installed at the Knowledge Centre in Rameswaram, has been sent from Jaipur Wax Museum, authorities said today.
Founder-director of Jaipur Wax Museum, Anoop Srivastava said the wax statue was gifted following a request from his family members.
The statue, completed in three months, weighs 45 kilograms. Twenty-five kilograms of wax was used in the production of the statue that was built by sculptor Sushanta Ray and his team.
Kalam, the 11th President of India — from 2002 to 2007 —was born and raised in Rameswaram and upon his demise, was buried there with full state honours.
