He said he protested against the miscreants several times and even complained to their families, but to no avail. The victim said the miscreants reached his house on Sunday night, poured kerosene on him and set him on fire after a heated argument.

STEPFATHER RAPES MINOR IN INDORE

A man was arrested from Chandan Nagar area of Indore on Sunday for raping his 15-year-old stepdaughter.

Police said the girl did not inform her mother about the inci-

dent, which took place about six months ago, since she had been threatened by her stepfather.

Chandan Nagar police station in charge YS Tomar said the incident took place when the girl’s mother was out for work.

A 13-year-old schoolgirl jumped off a moving train and suffered head and leg injuries after a man entered the ladies’ compartment of the local train she was in on Sunday morning.

Fearing he would molest her, Payal Kadam jumped on the tracks and was spotted by maintenance personnel, who rushed her to hospital. She is currently in hospital, but out of danger.

In her statement, the teenager said she boarded the train from CSMT at 9am and was going to her tuition class at Currey Road. As the train started pulling out of the station, she saw a man boarding the same compartment and panicked.

When the man told her to keep quiet and moved closer to her, she jumped out of the compartment, fearing that he would molest her.

Her mother told the police that usually she or her husband drop Payal to the station and wait for the train to leave. However on Sunday she had to attend a funeral and her husband, who works at JJ hospital, was out of town, so she let her daughter go alone.

The CSMT government railway police have registered a complaint and are looking for the man, who alighted at the next stop after the incident. HTC
