Usman Khan’s fiery left-arm pace bowling sent Sri Lanka packing in the fifth ODI against Pakistan in Sharjah on Monday. The burly left-arm pacer took five wickets for 34 runs as Sri Lanka were all out for paltry 103 (26.2 overs) in a match where they were playing for pride. Pakistan wrapped up the chase in 20.2 overs with nine wickets to spare.

Usman was on a hattrick as Sri Lanka were in tatters after opting to bat. He took the first five Sri Lankan wickets to fall with the scoreboard reading a horrible 20.

Usman’s effort was the thirdquickest five-wicket haul in ODI history. Sri Lanka’s Chaminda Vaas took 16 balls to tear through Bangladesh, and Tim van der Gugten claimed five against Canada for Holland in 2013 in the space of 20 deliveries.

Usman made his debut in the fourth ODI against Sri Lanka on Friday. On an easy paced Sharjah stadium pitch, Lanka never recovered from early jolts of losing four wickets in the first three overs. Their lowest total of 78 against Pakistan had also come at Sharjah in 2002.
