Farm loan waiver certificates to be distributed through camps

Cooperative minister Ajay Singh Kilak on Thursday said that after the budget announcement, the government has executed farm loan waiver up to ₹50,000 scheme, benefitting over 28 lakh farmers. The farmers will be distributed loan waiver certificates through camps by cooperative banks.
He said chief minister Vasundhara Raje took the historic initiative of waiving loan in farmers’ interest. The government, under the scheme, has waived off all penalties and interest on overdue loans for small and marginal farmers up to September 30, 2017, and one time waiver of ₹50,000 of pending short term crop loan.
Under the scheme, marginal farmers with one hectare land, small farmers with more than one hectare but up to two hectares, and other farmers with two hectare land are eligible.
Besides small and marginal farmers, pending loans of other farmers on the basis of cultivation are waived off up to September 30, 2017. The benefit of the scheme will only be given to farmers related to district central cooperative bank and primary cooperative banks.
Kilak said that the farmer, who will be given loan waiver certificate will be eligible to receive credit limit. “Soon, the camps for loan waiver will be organised and action plan for the same is been given final shape,” he said.
The minister said that the list of names of farmers will be published who are to be given the benefit.
Farmers can verify loan and amount of loan waived at e-mitra centres through Aadhaar or Bhamashah card number.
“A grievance committee will be constituted by district collectors to ensure authenticity and creditability of details of loan waiver of a farmer. A farmer can register grievance such as absence of name in the list, calculation of the loan at respective bank branches. The committee has to resolve the grievance in 30-days time limit,” he said.
