MoUs worth ₹544 cr implemented: Saini
The Government of Rajasthan had signed 78 memorandums of understanding (MoU) for Rs 5,956 crore during the last three Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM) held in Rajasthan in last two years, of which MoUs worth Rs 544 crore have been implemented.
Agriculture minister Prabhu Lal Saini said 15 MoUs have been implemented in these two years, while 20 MoUs are under implementation. One of the MoUs have been dropped and one is not feasible as of now due to land conversion issue. The remaining MoUs are in different stages of process. GRAM will be organised in Jodhpur next month, in which good number of MoUs is expected to be signed.
The investors are still in process of land purchase, land conversion, getting electricity connection and other infrastructure related issues, due to which certain projects are being delayed.
The first GRAM was organised in November 2016 at Jaipur. Chief minister Vasundhara Raje, looking at the success of GRAM 2016, said that such agritech meets will be organised at the divisional level in the state.
Saini said that during the GRAM in Jaipur, 38 MoUs worth Rs 4,400 crore were signed and following Raje’s direction, next GRAM was organised in May 2017 in Kota, where 22 MoUs worth Rs 1,068 crore were signed. 18 MoUs were signed in Udaipur during November 2017.
