5-yr-old girl raped by 13-yr-old boy

A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 13-yearold neighbour in Itimad-udDaula police station area of Agra city on Monday, police said.

The accused, who too is a minor, is absconding after a case under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against him, they added.

Additional superinten­dent of police (ASP), Chatta circle, Ritesh Kumar said the incident took place when the girl’s mother had gone to the market and she was in the house with her seven-yearold sister. Kumar said the accused lived in the same area and used to frequent the girl’s house. “The girl’s family said the boy came to their house on Monday evening and took the girl to the rooftop on the pretext of giving her toffees. Though the girl’s sister was also in the house but she had no idea about the boy’s designs,” he said.

When the girl raised an alarm, her sister rushed to the rooftop where she found the accused in an objectiona­ble condition.

The accused pushed aside the victim’s sister and ran away.

The girl was taken to police station after which medical examinatio­n was conducted on her.

searching for the accused,” Kumar said. The fathers of the girl and the accused are drivers but none of them were present in their house on Monday.

The incident comes within 48 hours of the rape of a teenage girl in Ram Nagar village of nearby district of Firozabad. The victim was 16 while the accused, who is on the run, was 23. The accused was known to the victim and belonged to the same village.
