35yrold criminal shot dead in gym during workout

A 35-year-old historysheeter in Sriganganagar district was shot dead by unidentified assailants on Tuesday morning. The incident took place when Vinod Choudhary alias Jordan was working out in a gym in Jawahrnagar police station area.

Around 5.30 am, three assailants entered the gym and opened fire on Jordan. Police sources said that the three assailants, equipped with five sophisticated revolvers shot about 15 rounds on Jordan, who died on the spot. The gym instructor at the reception of the gym was forced at gunpoint to open the bio-metric lock to help the assailants enter the gymnasium, the CCTV footage showed.

According to circle officer (City) Tulsidas Purohit, assailants opened fire on Jordan from close range and he was killed on the spot.

The CO added that he was a serious offender and had multiple cases registered against him at different police stations of the district.

Police suspect that members of a rival gang eliminated Jordan to settle long standing disputes and strengthen their grip in the area. The family of Jordan has filed an FIR against the suspects. However, police said that they are waiting for the postmortem report and FSL report to set the course of their investigation.

According to police records, Jordan, a history-sheeter of Purani Aabadi police station area, was a serious offender and had 11 cases registered against him at different police stations of the district.
