HD Kumaraswam­y has said he is unhappy being Karnataka’s chief minister, apparently referring to the difficulty in running a coalition government along with the Congress.

Kumaraswam­y, in a video tweeted by news agency ANI, is seen wiping his eyes as he talks about his “pain”. “You are standing with bouquets to wish me, as one of your brother became chief minister and you all are happy, but I’m not. I know the pain of coalition government,” ANI quoted him as saying on Saturday.

Kumaraswam­y’s Janata Dal (Secular) or JD (S) and the Congress joined hands after the May 12 assembly polls in Karnataka. The BJP emerged as the single largest party in the polls but its government fell within a week.
