JOSHI FACTION COACHING CAMP STARTS TODAY

: The Rajasthan Cricket Associatio­n (RCA) faction, led by president CP Joshi, has announced to organise a 15-day coaching camp for the state-level under-19 cricket tournament, even as the rival faction, led by former president Lalit Modi, has also announced a separate statelevel cricket tournament claiming legitimacy.

The coaching camp will be organised at the RCA Cricket Academy from July 16, RCA joint secretary Mahendra Nahar, who belongs to the Joshi camp, told Hindustan Times on phone from Delhi.

Total 75 players have been selected for the camp on the basis of their performanc­e in the Colvin Shield championsh­ip, he said.

Nahar said the final selection will be made by the selectors appointed by the Rajasthan high court including former Ranji skipper Vinod Mathur and Sanya Vyas.

“We had also given opportunit­y to the players of Modi faction related districts to participat­e in the selection trial on July 1,” he said, adding that nine players were selected from the Modi faction related districts comprising two players each from Hanumangar­h, Srigangana­gar and Bharatpur districts and one each from Banswara and Nagaur districts.

Nandu, who is spearheadi­ng the fight against the Joshi camp on behalf of Lalit Modi, said, “They did not inform about the (state-level) tournament. So, we have also started the tournament separately,” he said, adding that the state cricket suffering due to their attitude.

He alleged that the opponent group does not want the state cricket to run smoothly.

He said that former Ranji cricketer and Rajasthan team assistant coach Harish Joshi, Kamal Goswami and Central Zone coach and former Rajasthan opener Anshu Jain and Dishant Yagnik will be coaching players in their camp.

The players were directed to report for the camp by July 16.
