ALWAR: RESIDENTS OF ALWAR’S LADPUR AND KHANPUR CONFIRMED NOBODY BOUGHT COWS FROM THESE VILLAGES AS CLAIMED IN THE FIR AND BY RAKBAR’S AIDE

Residents of Alwar’s Ladpur and Khanpur have contradicted the Rajasthan police and survivor, Aslam, saying the cows Rakbar Khan, 31, was herding when he was lynched over suspicions of bovine smuggling were not bought from these villages.

The First Information Report filed over the lynching at Ramgarh police station says Rakbar Khan had bought the cows from Ladpur village, which comes under Senthli pachayat. Aslam, who was accompanying Khan, and managed to flee when they were attacked on Friday last, had claimed to have bought the cows from Khanpur. He had separately told police the cows belonged to Malle Khan, a resident of Khanpur. Malle Khan’s wife Haroni denied having ever known Rakbar or Aslam. “Neither we know any Aslam and Rakbar Khan nor we have cows at our home. We only have one calf. How can we sell any cow if we do not have any?’’ she said over the phone. Senthli panchayat sarpanch, Dhanbai Meena, said they have investigated the matter and “it is 100% confirmed that nobody had bought any cow from the village”. Meena said the panchayat issues a letter to any person who sells or buys a cow or any other bovine. “Neither the panchayat has issued any letter nor anybody has sold it in any other manner.”

Hurmat Khan Mev, a resident of Khanpur, accused Aslam of lying. “Not a single person from our community or village knows them [Aslam and Khan]. In any village, exchange of cows takes place between known people, nobody sells a bovine to an unknown person.”

Joginder Singh, another resident, said most of the villagers know each and other and almost every cattle. “In the last few days, nobody has sold any cattle.” He added everybody in the village learnt about Rakbar and Aslam after the lynching.
