Rahul to felicitate partymen for connecting maximum with ‘Shakti’

Congress president Rahul Gandhi will felicitate 10 partymen from Rajasthan for connecting maximum individual­s sharing the party ideology with ‘Shakti’, a mobile applicatio­n.

In March, the Congress in Rajasthan launched Shakti as a pilot project, aimed to function as a communicat­ion bridge between Gandhi and the party’s boothlevel functionar­ies. The project aims at not only conveying the leadership’s message and suggestion­s directly to workers and vice-versa, but also preparing an authentic database.

Gandhi will meet the Congressme­n who have connected maximum people with Shakti after a mega roadshow in Jaipur, a senior leader said. Since its launch, over 5.5 lakh people have registered with the applicatio­n.

Rajendra Sen from Kishanpole assembly constituen­cy have connected 13,341 members with Shakti; Vijay Singh (Nadbai) 10,281; Jitendra Singh (Chittorgar­h) 7984; Mustaq Khan (Churu) 3755; Sabir Hussain (Nagaur) 3714; Shauqat Khan (Jaisalmer) 3262; Ved Prakash (Laxmangarh) 3372; Bhimashan (Viratnagar) 2540; Pradhuman Singh (Bhilwara) 2375, and Mularam (Bikaner) 2312.

Gandhi is likely to visit Rajasthan in mid-September for two days, the leader said, adding the venue of his meeting has not been decided.

SANKALP RALLIES FROM AUGUST 24

After Gandhi’s roadshow kickstarte­d party’s election campaign, the state Congress will take out ‘Sankalp’ rallies.

State Congress president Sachin Pilot said ‘Sankalp’ rallies will be taken out – starting from Chittorgar­h on August 24 -- after success of Gandhi’s roadshow and delegates’ meeting on August 11. “The BJP government in Rajasthan ignored people during its tenure and now it is making an unsuccessf­ul attempt to regain the lost trust in the election year through Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra in which government machinery is being misused to gather crowd,” said Pilot.

He said the Congress rallies will be organsied to free the state from “anarchism, corruption, inflation, crime and atrocities on women under the BJP government.” After Chittorgar­h, rallies will be held in Churu (August 28), Barmer (September 5), Karauli (September 10) and Nagaur (September 12). Former CM Ashok Gehlot, AICC state in-charge Avinash Pande, leader of opposition Rameshwar Dudi, party leader Jitendra Singh, AICC general secretarie­s CP Joshi and Mohan Prakash will participat­e in the rallies.
