Council formed to be nodal agency for teachers’ training
The education department has established a Rajasthan State Education Research and Training Council (RSERT) to impart training to teachers and ensure quality education.
The RSERT has been established according to the guidelines issued by the Union ministry of Human Resources Development, minister of state for school education, Vasudev Devnani, said.
Devnani said that the council, set up on the initiative of chief minister Vasundhara Raje, will function as an ‘academic think tank’ and work in the field of education, training and research.
He also said that instead of the State Institute of Educational Research & Training (SIERT) located in Udaipur, the newly constituted RSERT will be the nodal agency for all education and training related matters in the state.
Devnani said that the council will develop the syllabus for preprimary to senior secondary schools as well as for the district education training institutions. It

will also evaluate teachers’ training and work to encourage research in teaching.
The council will also help in capacity building of youth through training, he said.
The council will function independently as the education authority in school education from Class 1 to class 12. The district education institutions will now work under the RSERT.
Devnani said the council would connect teachers from the state to national level education and training activities and would help to bring about innovations in teachers’ training.
