18yearold held for minor girl’s rape

An 18-year-old man was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly raping a minor in a village here, police said.

The accused, Jhamak Lal alias Jamiya, was produced in court on Thursday and sent to two-day police custody.

The victim, a four-year-old girl, has been rushed to MB Hospital for treatment.

The victim’s mother, in her statement to the police, said that around 4 pm, while she was working in her field, she heard screams of her daughter from a nearby hillock. When she rushed there, she found her daughter lying there with injuries. She raised an alarm and called relatives for help.

The victim’s mother has named Jhamak Lal for the crime.

“After the FIR, we picked up the the boy and after interrogation, he was arrested under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) ,” Udaipur SP Kunwar Rashtradeep said. HTC
