Ra­jni­gandha Achiev­ers emerged win­ners of Radha Mo­han Ra­jin­der Mo­han Gold Vase (8 Goal) polo tour­na­ment beat­ing Jin­dal Pan­ther by 6 ½ goals to 3 in the fi­nal played at Jaipur Polo Ground here on Satur­day.

Hurr Ali was ad­judged the Most Valu­able Player and Mare Chilli from Van­dit Golechha’s sta­bles was ad­judged the Best Polo Pony. Scor­ers for Ra­jni­gandha Achiev­ers were – Matthew Perry (2), Van­dit Golechha (2), Hurr Ali (2) and started with ½ goal on hand­i­cap. Scor­ers for Jin­dal Pan­ther were – Sim­ran Shergill (2), Tom Brodie (1)

HOCKEY CORE GROUP

Hockey In­dia on Satur­day named a 33-mem­ber core group for the women’s na­tional camp be­gin­ning in Ben­galuru on Mon­day.

The camp, to be con­ducted un­der the watch­ful eyes of chief coach Sjo­erd Mar­i­jne, will con­clude on November 30.

“We have brought in a few younger play­ers who have shown good per­for­mances in the do­mes­tic events ,” said Mar­i­jne.

The In­dian women’s na­tional team will take on Bangladesh in their sec­ond match of the first round of the 2020 AFC Women’s Olympic Qual­i­fy­ing Tour­na­ment, which will be held at the Thuwunna Sta­dium in Yangon on Sun­day.

Af­ter 1-1 draw against Nepal in their first match, team In­dia will be eye­ing full three points against Bangladesh.
