Sitting BJP MLAs dropped for upcoming assembly polls by the party have accepted the party’s decision with a good heart while those on whom the party has reposed faith for the polls have asserted for ensuring BJP’s victory in their constituencies.

BJP in its list of candidates issued on Sunday night has dropped two sitting BJP MLAs, including Chandrakanta Meghwal, sitting BJP MLA from Ramganjmandi constituency of Kota district and BJP MLA from Manoharthana constituency of Jhalawar, Kanwarlal Meena.

When HT asked Chandrakanta on being denied party ticket by BJP, she said, “I accept the decision and will continue to work for the party”. She said that the party has chosen another candidate for the Ramganjmandi constituency and she is fine with it.

However, she asserted she has been a victim of injustice in her case of a scuffle with Kota police last year.

While the FIR lodged by the police of manhandling by BJP workers hasn’t been shut, the final report has been submitted in the FIR lodged by the BJP MLA of having been manhandled by police.

Chandrakanta Meghwal was two-time BJP MLA from SC reserve Ramganjmandi constituency and hasn’t been defeated in the polls so far.

Similar was the reaction of BJP MLA from Manoharthana, Kanwarlal Meena, who has been replaced by Govind Ranipuria.

He said, “I accept the decision of the party and would support the candidate who has been chosen by the BJP now”.

Kanwarlal Meena had hogged the headlines a couple of years ago for allegedly manhandling civil rights activists in Manoharthana.

BJP candidate from Ramganjmandi, Madan Dilawar has expressed gratitude to the BJP leadership for having given him the party ticket.

“I did not put up my candidature. It was the party which has chosen me,” he said.

The sitting BJP MLAs of Hadoti region getting the party ticket again are visibly jubilant.
