3 held for Udaipur guard murder

The Udaipur police arrested three people in connection with the murder of a security guard which took place at Royal Lotus Complex on Wednesday.

The arrested accused have been identified as Dilip Singh, Wasim alias Chintu and Ashfaq. Dilip resides at the Royal Lotus Complex while Wasim and Ashfaq live in Kishanpol and Khanjipeer area of the city, SP Kunwar Rashtradee­p said.

Four other accused are still on the run and a hunt for them is on, the official added.

The victim, Natvar Lal, was working as a security guard with Mahaveer Security Agency and was deployed at Royal Lotus Complex at Titri area.

He was found dead at the guard room by his nephew Vishal on Wednesday morning. Vishal later informed the police and lodged an FIR against unknown accused, SP said.

Various teams were constitute­d under the supervisio­n of additional superinten­dent of police (ADSP) City Parasmal Jain, ADSP Rural Narayan Singh, station house officer Savina police station, Sanjiv Swami, to investigat­e the matter.

Initially, police was clueless about the crime as the accused had damaged the CCTV cameras installed at the complex but later, during the investigat­ion, when they scanned the CCTV footage of the cameras installed in the nearby area, they found some important informatio­n about the incident. As the investigat­ion progressed, police learnt that Dilip Singh was behind the act, SP added.

Singh was later rounded up from Savina area and on his informatio­n, Wasim and Ashfaq were also arrested. They further revealed the names of four other people involved.
