In Hadoti, maximum polling recorded in Raje’s home district
: Chief minister Vasundhara Raje’s home district Jhalawar registered the highest turnout in Kota division in the state’s Hadoti region on Friday, when polling for Rajasthan assembly elections were held.
Jhalawar, which recorded a turnout of 80.49%, maintained its lead over the other three districts (Kota, Baran and Bundi) just like it had in the 2013 polls, when it had registered 80.63% polling.
Jhalawar’s Manohar Thana assembly constituency registered the highest polling, 84.45%, similar to its performance in the 2013 polls (83.27% turnout).
Raje’s home constituency Jhalrapatan recorded 77.84% polling this time as against 78.52% in 2013. The other two assembly constituencies in Jhalawar district, Dag and Khanpur, both recorded low turnout than the previous elections — 79.72% and 79.88%, respectively, this time as against 80.58% and 89.40% turnout, respectively, in the 2013 polls.
Jhalawar collector Jitendra Kumar Soni said the district administration‘s ‘Sveep 360’ programme to sensitise voters and encourage them to cast vote has shown results.
Overall, Kota witnessed the lowest turnout (74.67%) among all the four districts in the division.
Of the six constituencies in Kota district, Kota South received the lowest turnout (71.37%), followed by Pipalda (72.42%), Kota North (73.73%), Ladpura (75.58%), Sangod (77.56%) and Ramganj Mandi (78%). The second highest polling percentage was recorded in Baran district where 78.52% turned out to vote. Here, Anta, Baran, Kishanganj and Chhabra constituencies registered 79.76%, 75.77%, 79.19% and 79.37% polling, respectively.
Bundi district registered 75.78% polling with Bundi, Hindoli and Keshoraipatan constituencies registering 76.67%, 79.79% and 70.90%, respectively.
