Hardik Patel to contest Lok Sabha polls

AHMEDABAD: Patidar leader Hardik Patel on Wednesday announced that he will contest this year’s Lok Sabha polls. Patel, however, did not reveal if he will contest the elections in affiliation with a political party or as an independent candidate. The firebrand leader, who has been spearheading the agitation seeking Other Backward Class (OBC) status to his Patidar community since 2015, declared his much-awaited electoral debut during a rally in Lucknow.
