AMLA SURVIVES IN ‘DRS DELAY’
DURBAN: South Africa had an early reprieve when Hasim Amla, on a duck, survived in bizarre circumstances. Bowler Vishwa Fernando appealed for legbefore which umpire Aleem Dar ruled not out. But even though Karunaratne signaled for a DRS, Dar didn’t refer the decision. It was a timing error by Dar, who indicated Karunaratne didn’t signal for the review within the 15-second limit. Karunaratne’s signal was within the 15 seconds, according to the broadcasters. Replays showed Amla was out. However, it didn’t cost Sri Lanka too much as Amla was out soon after for just three runs.
